Heron-Sphinx-Sculpture by Troika3D ModelNoAI
Exhibition: Grenzgänger / Crossers
Theme: The “crossers” follow a series of sculptures for which the collective draws from its archive of digitized objects from museum collections—fragments of the digital twins of historical objects are re-combined to new figures and 3D-printed. With this first solo exhibition in Austria, Troika focused on the complex forms of non-human intelligence between technology and ecology and raised questions regarding the possible (mal)adaptation of living beings to climate change as well as the digital afterlives of human myths, culture, and history.
Conception / design: Troika, a London-based artist collective (Eva Rucki, Conny Freyer, and Sebastien Noel)
Curator: Marlies Wirth, Digital Culture and MAK Design Collection
Object: Heron Sphinx, 3D printed, FDM, hand painted with transparent epoxy resin
Scanned/edited by Vasiliki Lagari (Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna)
