Red-Slipped and Burnished Carinated Bowl Sherd3D Model
This sherd is a fragment of decorated and carinated fineware bowl found in Area B at Khirbat al-Jariya in the Faynan region of southern Jordan. This bowl features the most sophisticated design of any bowl found at the site, suggesting that it may have been used as a serving vessel. The vessel also features red slip and burnish, a popular form of decoration in the Iron IIA period. The combination of these features suggest that this vessel likely would have been used exclusively by elites at Khirbat al-Jariya.
