More model informationThis sherd is a fragment of small, simple, fineware bowl found in Area B at Khirbat al-Jariya in the Faynan region of southern Jordan. This bowl was features red slip and burnish, a form of decoration that increased in popularity in the Iron IIA period. The decoration and texture of the clay of this vessel suggest that it was used as a serving vessel, and likely would have been used exclusively by elites at Khirbat al-Jariya.
