The project of the Palace of Justice of Catania was commissioned to Francesco Fichera in 1936. The building, located within the large square Giovanni Verga, required a thorough process of study and design, which was followed by 15 years to complete the construction. Fichera experimented various solutions, as shown by the many archive drawings, arriving at five hypotheses, the last corresponds to the realized project. The third project proposal can be inferred from the following 3D model, it approaches the final project, becoming more coherent to the project lot. The architect imagines to build a large classical temple but with a strongly squared volume. Inside, the large volume is carved by six large courts and marked by pilasters in giant order in the secondary facades. A court of assize with two hemicycles at the back of the building.
