The cine-teatro Olympia was designed by Francesco Fichera at the beginning of the XXth century and opened in 1913. It is located in Palazzo Paola in Catania in an area between Piazza Stesicoro and Via Etnea. Fichera also paid a lot of attention to the interior decoration, which, through stucco and frescoes, recalls the lush Mediterranean vegetation. The decorations of the auditorium are realized by Salvatore Gregorietti and Gaetano D’Emanuele. The architrave and the impost of the dome are decorated with stucco bas-reliefs that echo the floral and phytomorphic motifs present in the frescos on the rest of the room. The corridor also had bas-reliefs depicting the theme of Mediterranean wildlife. Today, only a small part of the decoration is still present, as the cinema hall has undergone several transformations that have affected both its appearance and its use. This 3D model depicts the decorations placed on the architrave, they have been entirely modeled from historical photographs in Zbrush software.
