More model informationThis Late Roman/Byzantine lamp dates from the 3rd to 7th centuries CE. According to the exhibit label: “Faint circular lines on the base indicate that the body of this lamp was wheel thrown. Lamps of this shape are most commonly found in Egypt and the Levant and continued to be be used in the Medieval era.” Repository number AWG0000.01.07. It is on exhibit at the Ancient World Gallery at the University of Richmond.
