More model informationThis south Italian (Apulian?) cup dates to the 4th century BCE.
According to the exhibit label: “The maker of this small cupt either did not use an evenly heated kiln or applied the slip haphazardly, as the reserve clay color remains in various sponts on the surface. Its small size could indicate that it was intended for a child or as a votive offering.”
Repository number AWG0000.03.05. It is on exhibit at the Ancient World Gallery at the University of Richmond.
