More model informationThe waters of Polish Lednica Lake are hiding an impressive amount of early medieval artifacts and structures. The presented logboat is one of the many similar recovered from that lake. That one however was decided to be left underwater. During the 2012 season it was the first underwater heritage object documented using photogrammetry in Poland.
In the 2021 season, another approach of photogrammetric documentation was done on that object, this time with two main goals:
- Monitor degradation of the artifact after 9 years.
- Create 3D model only with the use of a remotely operated vehicle (ROV).
Long story short:
-
Degradation of the logboat is noticeable
-
ROV is a perfect tool for that kind of underwater heritage monitoring.
