Ánfora romana tipo Haltern 70 (Carteia)

Ánfora romana hallada en el barrio portuario de Carteia (San Roque, Cádiz). Se localizó dentro de una balsa salazonera junto a otros recipientes idénticos. Este ánfora se elaboró en el valle del Guadalquivir y estos modelos solían contener defrutum, un tipo de vino reducido muy afamado. Este ejemplar se considera un modelo evolucionado dentro del tipo Haltern 70, caracterizado por su pivote macizo, asas con acanaladura externa y boca sencilla y abierta.

Roman amphora found in the port district of Carteia (San Roque, Cádiz). It was found inside a salting tank along with other identical amphorae. This amphora was made in the Guadalquivir valley and these models usually contained defrutum, a very famous type of reduced wine. This example is considered to be an evolved model of the Haltern 70 type, characterised by its solid pivot, handles with external grooves and simple, open mouth.
