Roman tile with dog paw prints

This tile was found at the Roman town of Calleva, near Silchester, during excavations in the 19th and 20th centuries. This tile is impressed with the footprints of two dogs. The prints tell us that tiles were made in the local vicinity and that tiles weren’t wasted, even those spoilt by animals walking across them whilst drying.
