Area A, Khirbat Nuqayb al-Asaymir3D Model
Area A is a building made up of a long series of rooms, located on the southern hill of Khirbat Nuqayb al-Asaymir. Its position overlooking the site suggests it may have housed the site’s administrators, and excavations in one room of the structure found fragments of imported, glazed pottery, consistent with the presence of the site’s wealthier occupations. These excavations also revealed very shallow deposits, and GIS modeling indicates substantial erosion of the building’s contents into the site’s central valley.
