The remains of a wooden ship lie in the sands at Cefn Sidan, Pembrey, Carmarthenshire. The hull of the ship is well-preserved with the bow towards the sea (south). The bow of the wreck has become scoured out as its been exposed, and a large pool of water has formed there. This makes photogrammetry tricky in this area because of the water and reflections upon it. The starboard (righthand) side is slightly better preserved and at the very northern end of the wreck you can make out some of the lower stern timbers.
The archaeological remains extend for about 30m in length, meaning that the ship was probably a bit longer than that, as not all of the hull is preserved at the stern. The identity of the ship is unknown.
The visible remains of the ship were recorded on the 21st February 2023. The ship is also listed in the National Monuments Record of Wales (NPRN 423944) https://coflein.gov.uk/en/site/423944/
