More model informationThis model is a repost of data released under the CC0 dedication by SMK - Statens Museum for Kunst: https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-head-of-michelangelo-s-david-52645
Digitised using an Artec Eva.
This is a scan from a cast of the original David by Michelangelo, a masterpiece of Renaissance art. The cropped bust was crafted in 1899 (Beckett number 756).
Optimised using https://rapidcompact.com/ to reduce facecount and generate normal and occlusion maps.

@troko Glad this is useful to you - pls see description for link to original data.
Beautiful model to test and practice with light setups and HDRIs. Thank you!
@stahistsak there is a link to the original downloadable model in the description: myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-head-o...
can I somehow download it and 3d print it?
Thx a lot
@javadevjosep all credit goes to the team at STW (see description) - I only optimised the model
One of the best Model of David
@ZaccariaCorleone Hey - the original scan for this model was created using an Artec scanner (https://www.central-scanning.co.uk/product/artec-eva). You can capture 3D scans yourself by using a bunch of photos of a subject (say around 100) and processing them using photogrammetyr software like RealityCapture (https://www.capturingreality.com/realitycapture) or iPhone apps like Polycam.
how do u create 3D ARs? i know of artivive - an app you can create ur own, by uploading 6 images. but this is 3dimensional, so you'd have to work with a 3D scan - is that correct?
@roqqq glad you like - kudos to the orginal scan creators and @smkmuseum for releasing the data
This is awsome!
@j1138561926 all kudos to @smkmuseum for putting the original model in the public domain. All I did was optimise it and generate some textures :)
Thank u so much for this wonderful model for free! It helps me a lot for my CG project
@nebulousflynn thanks!
@frankmcmains For this model I used a custom preset: Reduce to 100k faces, generate 8192x8192 normal and occlusion maps, save as obj + mtl + textures.
I've used the 'desktop' and Spark AR presets on other models with sucess too.
Do you have a suggestion about which preset to start with on rapidcompact.com?
