I originally wanted to submit this for the Sketchfab “Horn of Plenty” Challenge, but I kind of underestimated how much work this was going to be :-)
Anyway, I think this the first 3D Scanned Stop Motion Animation on Sketchfab! Is it?
I made this as a homage to the leader of Dutch educational TV show “Het Klokhuis” (The Apple Core) that I watched as a kid in the 1990s (it’s still on TV!)
I made 5 3D Scans using Photogrammetry consisting of about 40 photos each. In between I took a new bite. I chose not to capture the bottom because this project was already very time consuming. And I was surprised about how quickly apples turn brown!
I used a Sony RX100M2 on a tripod and did the processing in the Agisoft PhotoScan Pro trial (which also served as a test for my upcoming review of that software on 3Dscanexpert.com). I aligned the different scans in Cinema 4D.
I used this method for the stop motion.
