A modern plaster cast of lintel 17 from House F. The inscription has no date, but reads: ‘it is the image at the creation [illegible]; the birth of Chel Te’ Chan’ (son of Bird Jaguar and his wife), followed by the name of Bird Jaguar and titles - god-king of Yaxchilan, him of 20 captives, and the 3 k’atun lord. This is followed by: ‘It is the image of Lady Mut Bahlam, the noble lady from Hix Witz, lady Bah Kab’ (lady countenance of the earth). The image depicts Lady Mut Bahlam performing auto-sacrifice by pulling a rope through her tongue which she lets down into an offering bowl with blood-stained paper. Bird Jaguar sits on a bundle of maguey leaves, holding a bone perforator to draw blood from his penis. This lintel is a recreation of Lintel 24, commissioned by his father.
