Das Wasser aus dem Wandbrunnen konnte zum Anmischen von Schreibtinte verwendet werden. Die Darstellung zeigt eine verkürzte Version des Gesetz und Gnade-Motivs. Sie passt gut zum Haushalt eines Reformators, dem Jesu Blut in die Schreibfeder läuft.

The water from this fountain could be used to prepare ink for writing. This composition, an abbreviated version of Law and Grace, is ideally suited for a water fountain in household of a Reformer, whose quill soaks up the Blood of Christ.
