Dieses Gefäß wird aufgrund seiner Verzierung mit einem bärtigen Gesicht als Bartmannkrug bezeichnet. Bartmannkrüge waren sehr beliebt, nicht nur in Deutschland, sondern im 16. und 17. Jh. auch im Ausland. Sie erreichten sogar die Neue Welt.

This vessel is also referred to as a Bartmann (bearded man) jug, due to its decoration with a bearded face. Bellarmine jugs were enormously popular, not only in Germany but elsewhere as well during the 16th and 17th centuries. Interestingly, they even reached the New World.
