More model informationThe S.S. Polwell was built in 1888 by J.L. Thompson & Son in Sunderland measuring in at 86 m in length. She was a British steam collier owned by Clyde Shipping Co., Ltd. in Glasgow. On 5th June 1918 the S.S. Polwell was torpedoed by German submarine U-96 en route to Troon from France. She now lies in 29 m of water.
