Original English hanger sword with scabbard and fittings. Looking at the hallmark on the knucklebow, we can tell that the guard is sterling silver, and was manufactured in London in 1795. The craftsmanship throughout this piece is exquisite, and would have no doubt fetched a hefty price when first made.
Make sure to check out the animation to see the blade outside the scabbard!
This model was made from several hundred pictures assembled in RealityCapture, cleaned in MeshLab, and retopologized with Instant Meshes. Texture work was done in Photoshop and Illustrator, and all animation and texture mapping was done in Blender.
Please feel free to check out other models of historic weapons and armor I have made over at the official Oakeshott Institute Sketchfab page.
