More model informationThis is a resin cast (copy) of a crinoid calyx. Crinoids were very common in the Palaeozoic but are rare today. Despite the common name for group (Sea Lillies), these are filter-feeding animals rather than plants. The scale bar on the base of the stem is 5 mm.
This part of crinoids is a delicate structure, and is seldom preseved. More commonly, stem segments are found. Updated with reporcessed model 29th January 2021.
