The Younger Memnon - Lower Section
Ramesseum, Luxor
The lower section of the seated colossal statue of Ramesses II, which flanked the entrance to the second court of the Ramesseum, the mortuary temple of Ramesses II located on the West Bank of Luxor.
The statue comprises one singular block of granite, and is carved with numerous glyphs and graffiti, including that of Giovanni Belzoni - who famously moved the upper portion of the statue known as the Younger Memnon to the banks of the River Nile for transportation to the UK.
The upper section is now on display in the British Museum and has been scanned: https://skfb.ly/6st8J
