More model informationExposed at Miners Beach in Port Macquarie, this mélange contains a wide variety of phacoids encased in a sheared greenschist (metabasalt) matrix. Phacoids include blueschist, greenstone (metabasalt) and a variety of cherts and jaspers. Sizes vary from a few centimetres to several metres.
Thes blueschist phacoids contain glaucophane, clinozoisite and several other minerals and have been retrogressed from eclogite. Internally they display several pases of deformation.
These rocks form part of the accretion-subduction complex of the Southern New England Orogen.
Lens cap is 62 mm in diameter.
