More model informationThese mastodon teeth were digitally extracted from a CT-scan of a mastodon jaw by Virginia Commonwealth University forensic anthropologist Terrie Simmons-Ehrhardt. These teeth are from the left side of the mandible and the most worn tooth is toward the front of the mandible. The CT-scan is from a mastodon that dates to 13,500 years ago and was found during construction that led to the creation of Diamond Valley Lake. CT-scan courtesy of the Western Science Center.
