Hello,
can you please make the file aviable to download as an .obj file I need it for a school project that works in unity 3D.
@adrienpiro I haven't done that before. Pix4d, the 3d software program I use, outputs .OBJ and .FBX only (I believe). Check out: usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/item?si...
@goldenhouraerials Thanks a lot Kevin. That's super helpful! Do you know an easy way to convert FBX files into DAE or 3DS files? Or else import into SketchUp? Thanks again.
@adrienpiro I just made it available for download. Please let me know if the model was helpful to you in your project. (kevin@goldenhouraerials.com)
Hi guys,
Is this model available for download?
I am working on a solar project at this stadium where we would install ground mount solar panels both in the North and South.
Having a 3d model for this site would be very helpful to get some idea of the shading losses.
Thanks.
Adrien
@tigs You asked if I was contracted by Maryland to do these scans...unfortunately no! I've reached out to a few agencies, including several county historical societies but haven't gotten any interest. Still will continue to practice and do some market research on who might want these.
@eschmalfeld I did a grid pattern at 120 feet looking straight down, then an orbit at about 40 feet around the outside of the stadium. Then an arc in front of the grandstand at 80 feet to get detail of the seats.
Looks nice. What elevation and angle did you end up taking the obliques?
@tigs I used Pix4d Model, which is like Pix4d Mapper "lite" and about 1/10th of the cost.
I have not been contracted by Maryland to do this type of work although that would be great. I reached out to a few county historical societies but haven't gotten a lot of interest. For this stadium, I got the permission of someone on the team's management.
Feel free to reach out later if you have any questions about how I did the model.
Impressive!
Was this done with Pix4D Mapper? I'll have to think hard about that product and whether it's worthwhile for my needs, with my interest in drone photography/scans it almost seems inevitable if the end result is like this. Will have to also consider the DJI Phantom 4 Pro now instead of the 3!
Just out of interest, are you contracted by Maryland to do these scans? I would love to have access to scan things of this nature without the need of a permit!
Might have to ask you later about recommended reading to get into the mindset you have for doing an aerial scan that will provide optimum results every time (The grid, the orbit and the terrestrials you mentioned at @omnidirectional 's scan of the House in France).
Appreciate the reply and the read,
Cya around!
