@alexstlouis Polycam is awesome and what I use most, but it really depends on what I’m scanning. For smaller things (like this dollar bill skfb.ly/6Xvpw) I typically use 3D scanner app, and for a number of things (like flatiron plaza here skfb.ly/6XSX9) I use sitescape, for moving things (like this skfb.ly/6XPDT) I use record3d... And depending on what you scan, you can already get pretty close to photorealism, see this rock skfb.ly/6WG8v or this mural skfb.ly/6WpNZ

is that the building ?
@pecollette yes pretty much, and sweeping left and right
Amazing... did you get to this just by walking the stairs up at normal pace and holding your iPhone in front of you ?
@alban PolyCam is truly impressive. Would you say it's the most advanced scanning app that leverages the iPhone 12 for capturing the world?
I'm wondering how close we could get to true photorealism, if this quick scanning tech was combined with software to clean it up like, perhaps with a bit of help from a GAN model.
Super fun
Love those vintage iron details
