More model informationThis is an Oligocene, arkosic, detrital, sedimentary series of reddish and greenish shades (conglomerates, sands and shales). Arranged in a discordant way on the Paleozoic rock, it has a maximum outcrop thickness of 30 m and presents culminating tertiary terracing. These materials were deposited by the primitive river Tormes in the form of a NW-SE furrow during the beginning of the tilting of the Iberian plateau towards the Atlantic, when the Duero basin passed from an endoreic to an exorheic regime.
