Dundee Howff 'block 05' (9,000 RaspPi photos)3D Model
Capture device: prototype of a rapid capture omnidirectional Raspberry Pi camera rig, including (in its current iteration) 4x regular cameras (~60d fov) and 4x wide angle (~120d fov):
Upon being powered on, each camera is set to capture continuously at a rate of 1 photo every 2 seconds, so the rig captures 240/minute, 14,400/hour, or a total of 100,000 photos over a 7 hour capture session.
Last week I spent several days capturing several hundred thousand photos of the Howff, in the process refining both the prototype and the capture method. Had hoped to capture+process enough data for a 100k composite file for the 3dflowcup competition deadline tomorrow, we will see how close I can get to that target!
The concept of this model (large scale LQ, a canvas to attach individual HQs to) will be explained in subseqent files.
