More model informationOn the external face of the E gable of Shanrahan church (TS087-022002-), 0.3m above ext. ground level and 0.3m from SE angle. The gable has a rough pebble-dash render which covers the SE portion of the sheela-na-gig and may have completely obscured it in the past. The sheela-na-gig, identified by O’Riordan (1999, 197-8), is carved in relief on a triangular red sandstone stone (dims. 0.47m side x 0.58m base x H 0.5m).The figure has pronounced jug-ears, a slight tilt of the head with legs splayed and arms pulling the vulva. The facial features are quite worn. There is another sheela-na-gig (TS087-022003-) on the W face of the tower of the church.
