@viae I just downloaded Occupy White Walls, and all I can say is "Wow!" This game has me hooked! I'm quite surprised to see Peter Mohrbacher's artwork featured in the game.
It's just the art gallery I wish to make in VRChat.
@viae Thanks for the ping Seth
@luka.copelli have you explored Mozilla Hubs? You can populate a pre-made space with any downloadable Sketchfab models just by pasting a link. Quick demo: twitter.com/Sketchfab/status/13540633536...
You can also build your own spaces using their tool Spoke.
Also maybe of interest, I maintain a collection of 'virtual visits' here on Sketchfab: sketchfab.com/nebulousflynn/collections/...
@luka.copelli It's a great idea. Have you checked out @nebulousflynn on Twitter? He has done a lot of posting there about building digital and VR exhibitions. There is also an interesting project called Occupy White Walls in this vein, free to play on Steam and also has a Twitter presence.
@viae I'm interested in it because it's in a college textbook for art history, and one assignment choice was making a digitally modeled museum gallery with the exhibits being art that was reviewed in the previous weeks. Even though I chose a more easier assignment, the idea stuck with me, and I'd love to make a VR museum.
@luka.copelli I presume you are referring to this one? metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/2489...
If so, yes, it should be possible. The Met website says it is on view. Next time I am there I will look for it and try to get some photographs. If it is freestanding and not in a glass case the result should be good.
What is the nature of your interest in the Dipylon krater in New York?
Do you think it's possible to do a photogrammetry scan of the funerary krater that was found at the Dipylon Gate?
