More model informationThe recipe for this home-made fruit tart is very simple: just puff pastry, whipped cream, and several fruits. The scanning process, however, was a little more ambitious than that. I also wanted to document the intermediary stages that led to the final result. Thus, each step was captured independently, and later merged in a seamless animation with Blender. Check the annotations to find out more.
Changelog:
- 11.05 - static pose
- 12.05 - retouched texture: underside
- 15.05 - animation: morphing + rotation
- 18.05 - added custom animated ground shadow (AO)
- 20.05 - updated annotations; texture compression

@senyul @james loving the new tart. One little tart, so many possibilities.
Nice work! Looks great (and still tasty) :P
@james Success! Took me a good while to figure everything out, but I finally managed to get the complete animation working inside Sketchfab!
It may not be the most optimized scene, but it's a good start. The final touch was adding animated AO ground shadows, which can't be normally baked by Sketchfab directly, for other than static objects (yet).
All in all, it was a fun project from which I learned quite a few useful tips & tricks, so I'm considering recording some basic Blender>Sketchfab tutorials in the future.
@james Sure thing. I made several attempts using different techniques, so it'll take a bit to document them properly. Thanks!
@senyul this is one cruel challenge. Too bad 3D models are not edible

@livinteresting And tastes even better...
Nice scan!
Could you contact me about the issue with the timelapse? I'd love to see it! help.sketchfab.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
This looks amazing!
