More model informationThis sculpture was created in response to a brief that stated we should create a sculture depicting the muscles involved in a facial expression. I decided to look at the pukana and whetero expressions created by the Māori’s when performing various haka. The original sculpture was made of wax painted with oil and then it has been scanned using the Artec spider scanner and neatened up using Zbrush. I have also added labels showing some of the main branches of the facial nerve (CNVII). CNVII innervates many of the muscles of facial expression.
