Hey @marcovanetti that is nice of you to say, thank you for the compliment!
I think each of us who has submitted models to the competition has done well, our diverse models have different strengths and qualities. It has been good fun to participate!
This one could be very impressive once meshed and textured! I think you and gallopingold surely will pass to the final stage, so you shoulded keep this model for the final!
Good job and good luck!
Hi @gallopingold thank you for your comment! It is great to discuss method.
Regarding Zephyr Aerial, this model was produced using a 14-day trial license, I applied for that through the 3DFlow website at 3dflow.net/3df-zephyr-evaluation-downloa...
Very impressive! I love your annotations. You and I have similar philosophies on taking the pictures and the paths we walk. I just have regular Zephyr so I haven't tried merging point clouds, but I totally agree about making a skeleton first to guarantee alignment and prevent rounding-error-drifting, even if the photos never really contribute much beyond that purpose. ... Though sometimes if you miss a spot, you can still grab some texture from a distant shot, which is better than nothing! What a beautiful building. I don't see the garage doors though... Where would you park your Lamborghini?
