Impressed by the handwritten precision measurement map. The scale is also wonderful.
Great job, and very interesting method. I think it's another important way to describe an archeological find where the 2D illustration become an 3D view that describes visually the graphic object. Thank's for sharing it :)

@abbyec Cheers! Yep, the illustration was applied as a texture to the photogrammetric model. I used the rendered texture and normal map as a rough guideline to plot out the locations of all the features, then inked up everything using some RTI images of the handaxe as a reference.
I love this! It's the best of both worlds—you have the full form of the piece as well as the details that show how it was worked. Beautifully done. How did you do this? Scan the original and then apply the illustration as texture? Or create a model based on measurements and your illustration? (Or some other method entirely?)
