Caerlaverock Castle stands largely complete and is amongst the foremost examples of Scottish medieval secular architecture. Its triangular-shaped curtain wall is unique in Britain, and the Nithsdale Lodging within, dating from the 1630s, is one of the finest examples of Renaissance architecture in Scotland. Caerlaverock Castle was the chief seat of the Maxwells, one of the great noble families in southern Scotland.

The castle is famous in history and literature through its siege by Edward I of England in 1300, commemorated in the contemporary poem, The Siege of Caerlaverock. It was captured in 1640 by the Covenanters after a protracted siege and thereafter abandoned as a lordly residence.

@virtualsweden We used a light grey base colour for the material, Metalness is white with a value of 1, Specular off white and a value of 0.894, Glossiness white and 1 and then turned on Screen Space Reflection. We had also added a noise bump map to the water plane in the external 3D software.

@mashal Sorry not enough characters left in the main description . The model was created using a combination of laser scanning and terrestrial and UAV photogrammetry. The high res mesh was then retopologised and diffuse and normal maps were baked down from the high poly model. Other elements such as the bridge and interpretation boards were added in manually.
