Caerfai Camp Promontory Fort - January 20193D ModelNoAI
Caerfai Camp is a remarkable ancient promontory fort in Pembrokeshire that is being greatly affected by coastal erosion. The date of the site is unknown, but it is thought that it was first constructed during prehistoric times and used by past people as a place refuge in times of need.
The fort comprises four large ditches and ramparts that partially cuts off a large natural promontory. A large part of the fort’s interior has been lost to coastal erosion and continues to be affected by climate change and sea level rise. Caerfai Camp will be carefully monitored and investigated by the CHERISH Project to unlocked more of site’s history before more is lost.
