Picard Piranha - Interstate 76 - PBR Version3D Model
The Picard Piranha from the 1997 video game Interstate 76. One of my favourites growing up. Made for the #LowPolyCarChallenge
The original car was based on the 1970 Plymouth AAR ‘cuda. I wanted to stick as closely to what the car looked like in the game and not just make a cuda.
I’ve tried to get the old video game style by having hard edges with the polys and crisp unfiltered pixels. Textures are about double the resolution than what they were in the original.
To add to the challenge I really wanted to play about with sound and animation. I had recently watched CG Boosts video on his Low Poly Car Animation Breakdown and that inspired me to try my own converybelt style repeating background.

The car is only 6682 polys, but I managed to take the scene up to 9,999, just under the challange limit, with background and props to squeese as much detail in as possibe.
