A composition of 5 tetrahedral groups, drawn from icosahedral symmetry. In the large polyhedron shown, tetrahedra are in sets of 4, color matched. Each set of 4 is connected by bands of rhombic faces of the polyhedron,which all have edges parallel with edges of the tetrahedral group. These bands are zonal, each set of 4 tetrahedra and the 6 bands, or roads connecting them are independentlyvariable. This is illustrated in this model by reducing zones to zero in a succession of polyhedra.
Also shown is a single block, 30 of which are the components of the full Quintetra, as constructed in wood.
