More model informationAn early Medieval cross inscribed stone originally from Christs Chapel (also known as the chapel of St Mary) on the island of St Kilda, Scotland.
The chapel was recorded as being in a ‘ruinous state’ in 1842, when House 16 was built c.1860-1 this stone was removed from the chapel was incorporated into the side of a window where it remains to this day.
This model shows cross incribed stone is shown in the orientation that it is within the wall of house 16, when it was part of the chapel it was probably rotated 90 degrees clockwise.
