More model informationPharaoh Akhnaton worshipped a sole deity whom he called Aton, represented by the sun. This polychrome fragment of a column depicts Akhnaton offering incense to his sole god, the Aton, and being blessed by the hieroglyph for “life” in return. The cartouches indicate that this column dates to early in Akhnaton’s reign, no later than year nine. Some pigment remains on this fine piece of Amarna art.
